Digital systolic pressures in the lower limb in arterial disease.

چکیده
were decreased in patients with arteriosclerosis and thromboangiitis obliterans, or Raynaud's phenomena. Mean digital pressures correlated well with clinical and angiographic findings. In arteriosclerosis obliterans digital pressures in the limbs with claudication averaged 43% of the brachial pressure, and in patients with rest pain or skin lesions, or both, 21%. The ankle-to-toe pressure difference was increased in the majority of patients with thromboangiitis obliterans and in some diabetics with arteriosclerosis obliterans. The results indicate that digital pressure expressed as percentage of brachial pressure is a good index of the severity of the overall occlusive process, whereas the ankle-to-toe pressure difference may provide a useful index of the disease in the small distal arteries.

Comparison of blood pressure measurements on the upper and lower extremities during spinal anesthesia
Introduction: During spinal anesthesia, measurement of blood pressure is often obtained by an indirect method using an inflatable cuff on the upper arm. The relationship between the blood pressure measurements at the two sites in patients undergoing spinal anesthesia is unclear. This study was designed to evaluate the difference observed in systolic blood pressure (SBP) taken from the upp...
متن کاملتخمین فشار متوسط شریانی توسط پایش تهاجمی فشار شریانی با مانومتر
Background: Direct monitoring of arterial pressure using a transducer system is not affordable in most operating rooms and ICU wards in Iran. It is, however, possible to use an aneroid manometer instead, but it is not standardized yet, nor studied enough and its measurements may not be interpretable. Methods: To study the correlation of the arterial pressure readings between a manometer and a ...
متن کاملIndirect Systolic Pressures and Pulse Waves in Arterial Occlusive Disease of the Lower Extremities
Measurements were carried out in 146 limbs with angiographically documented arterial occlusive disease (AOD) and in 85 limbs without AOD. Ankle systolic pressure (AP) was equal to or higher than brachial systolic pressure in limbs without AOD. It was below 82% of the brachial in all limbs with complete occlusion, usually below 50% in those with multiple occlusions, and above 50% in limbs with s...
متن کاملControlled hypotension and minimal inflation pressure: a new approach for pneumatic tourniquet application in upper limb surgery.
UNLABELLED Minimal inflation pressures are recommended for limb surgery to eliminate complications attributable to high inflation pressures with the pneumatic tourniquets. We applied controlled hypotension and a minimal inflation pressure (CHAMIP) technique to provide a bloodless surgical field. Thirty-six patients scheduled for upper extremity surgery were randomized equally to receive either ...
